Kez.
The past 35 days have become somewhat of an obsession. I have tracked The Mighty Titans progress daily. What a true inspiration you lot are. So many messages of support. Many a strong person will try what you have just achieved, yet only a few will succeed. Stand tall, shoulders back, and hold your head proud, because you are one of those few. I take my hat off to you and the rest of the crew.
It only seems like yesterday since I was shaking your hand at work wishing you the best o luck, at the same time I was thinking, “HE MUST BE MAD !!” But 3000 ish miles later and a bit of rowing across some oversized duckpond they call the Atlantic, I will shake your hand again, being careful of all the blisters and be only to happy to say WELL DONE YOUFF – TRULY AWESOME STUFF !!!
Andy DB, 18 Feb 2013 20:23 GMT

Dear Rufus, I’ve just returned from a hunting mission where I scalped a couple of hundred unsuspecting posho British Army officers, all the while wearing a loincloth and sporting a barnet that Jason Lee would have been proud of back in his mid-mid-nineties Notts Forest heyday. In my downtime I’ve been following your progress on my iPad, and have been so impressed that I renounce my previous duplicitous ways and want to transfer to the HCR to be your gunner. is that possible and do you reckon will Shamus OK it?
Mugwa, 18th Entury, 17 Feb 2013 09:29 GMT
Hi Mike and Guys

ManDean – Agarwallah has qualified for the Brazil Olympics – he’ll be doing the 200m freestyle and butterfly – apparently he’s heading to Barbados to meet you on the shore with Fasial – they’re massively pumped you asked them to be part of your welcoming committee. Other news from the Hill – Damage has been caught bog flushing again and Igman is throwing some huge shapes at the ministry this weekend. Staps and Window will be there with some Para 500 they got off Sid of flat and E and Weiner, legends.
Keep chugging – Wizard.

Hey Paul…. Whilst by now the task at hand may have some serious sucky moments and the thought of being elsewhere has a strong pull, Know this…., In that boat there are 6 REAL men doing a big job and this momentous occasion has no chance of bruising the staying power of these boys. Spoke to Daddy earlier – he’s excited about coming out to see you but, predictably in a major fluster. Rum should help that once he’s in Barbados. Hotel they’re staying in looks really nice – SO jealous and GUTTED that i can’t come. Still…. i will continue to track your progress and will be willing you all on well for this last leg You are SO close now – Solid earth beneath your feet, beds, real food, not being assaulted by marine life, it’s all within sight now!
And there’s always more R&R and homecooking in Miami for you too.

Happy Valentines Day fellas.
Today’s quote is
“Titans bums are red
The sea is blue
You’ve rowed all the way
We’re so proud of you.
It won’t be long now
And you will be there
With lots of tears
And a few beers
Your families are waiting
So excited to see
You row in to Barbados Bay.
So come on Titans
You are the mighty ones
Row swift row fast
And see the miles pass
It’s not a mystery
You ll go down in history
So quicken your pace
It’s still a race
Please don’t lose face
It’s been ace”

Hey Paulie G – I just came up with that one myself, not bad huh?
I just listened to your wee interview with mike hosking and man I feel for you – won’t recognise you when you get back by the sounds of it. Keep going hard though, it’s getting super close now and you lot are troopers I know – just keep morale high and think how good you’ve got it, you’re all bloody legends.
Bit of an update from the trans tasman surf boats challenge in Waihi last week – Your crew lost 3-0 to the aussies damit – they need you boy. Then our crew bloody won! Still can’t believe it that we beat them with our completely unathletic looking crew because we’re hardly training at the moment.
Anyway team I’ll leave you to it, and will think of you and send over wishes of energy and high spirits. See you soon when I buy you a couple of pies and a beer Paul, looking forward to it!!
Carmel Tolhurst, 14 Feb 2013 21:32 GMT

Hi Rufus! When I’m not churning out some truly mediocre punditry for The Times (still, I’ll take the cash, me) or musing upon what my surname would mean if it was a Latin verb (probably something like ‘Cascarino, -are, -avi,-atum: I fail to make an impact at any club I play for’) then I like to look around for some friends. You and your zany antics have made for some great reading in the past weeks, and for that reason I am coming out with my other mates John Fashanu, Dave Beasant, and Razor Ruddock, to meet you in Barbados. It’s going to ‘kick off’! Talk about a ‘lash of the Titans’!!!! Mine’s a half of mild, please, since you’re asking.
Tony Cascarino, 14 Feb 2013 16:14 GMT
Hi Andrew, Jane will not ask you to be her valentine as you’re probably hairier and smellier than ever! Getting close to ‘land ahoy’. Great effort by you and the crew. Keep it going. Jane and Kyle send their regards.

Good morrow, my good men!
I bring warm tidings on this golden winter’s morn!
Behold, DHL have just delivered the War Elf costume that Rufus ordered before Christmas. Though it clefts my heart in twain to admit such a thing, i confess that i did open up the aforementioned package to inspect the article and can pronounce that the finished product is wonderous to behold. The sequins were a Thor-inspired idea indeed, young Rufus! The Oxford Brookes role-playing society stood you in good stead indeed.
We can’t wait to see you in action at the March meet of the London & South-East Live Action Role-Playing society (LSE-LARP) in the usual spot by the Maidenhead woods.
To celebrate your new costume and the mighty feats that the Titans have achieved, we invite you all and will bequeath the ability to cast spells on all other non-Titan LARP members (up to Level 5 status) free of charge at the Maidenhead March Madness event (Centaurs & Elves vs Evil XXI). However, please exercise caution – Rufus, we all remember what happened when you cast the spell of ribaldry on poor old Alan Knatchpole!
Congratulations to you all! Rufus, remember that you are also only 2 orcs away from becoming a level 3 Elven warrior when you return… so make haste.
Finally, lest you forget (Woden forbid!), keep in mind to bring some dice & mead to the gathering, in addition to an appetite for adventure.
May the winds of time float you o’er white crested waves towards the warms waters of your glorious destination.
GO TITANS!
Sir Alfred Biggleswade (chairperson of LARP), 14 Feb 2013 10:23 GMT
Never in the field of human conflict has so far been rowed by so few for so many
p.s. you look so small from up here! Luckily, i can still make out Rufus’s head.

To Kez and the Titans,
I hear that Thor…..the God of Thunder has again graced you with his presence, with fantastic lightening displays, wow I bet that was a sight to see. Few people have seen and done what you guys have done, i can t wait to hear about your epic journey, i hear food is scarce,,,,can you use the flying fish as bait for bigger fish, thinly slice same, put in or on silver dish or pan and leave in the sun which will solar cook enough to eat. Do you have fish line and hooks? Hope you can last.
Anyway, less than 500 to go, so the end really is in sight, hope you are all okay, no doubt ready for a good bath and a shave….you salty sea dogs.
Today’s quote for you….”“The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when you discover that someone else believes in you and is willing to trust you with a friendship.”
? u
Ralph Waldo Emerson
I am hoping you have all got on well together and have made good friends whilst you have been completing this awesome challenge, friends made in these circumstances no doubt for life……….Kez….Costa sales are down mate, they too will be glad when you return.
All the Best mate,,,enjoy the home stretch and see ya soon.

Dear Rufus, ever since I was let go by Chelsea and had to undergo the humiliation of ‘swapping ships’ to go to a post Ravanelli-era Middlesborough on a free transfer, my career has been ‘in the doldrums’. Watching your amazing voyage though has cheered me right up, and your he-‘row’-ic deeds are quite frankly on a par with such feats as my epic four-goal haul against Coventry City. I am going to come out to Barbados to ‘wave’ a greeting to you, so see you then mate; mine’s a pint by the way.

Dear Rufus, nice to see you, see you nice! in the course of my interminable light entertainment career I have seen a few things let me tell you. But none of them are as amazing as your ‘oarsome’ voyage across the ocean. If you ‘play your cards right’ I might just invite you onto Strictly Come Dancing and you can meet my lovely co-presenter Tess Daly. Right, I’m now off to celebrate my 140th birthday. Ooh here’s another ocean-based pun; ‘Didn’t he do swell’!

When I was 38, and 13 stone, i decided to start jogging, before I knew where I was I was entered for the “London” which I completed in 4hours, 12mins. I can only imagine what a dream you are striving for. I know you will do your upmost to achieve. As marshals on the course always tell you to “dig deep” you can do this. X

Oooh! I’ve just realised the leather trouser thing was actually a joke…. You see Rufus, I might be 43, but I’m still quick off the mark and ‘with it’ enough to realise that Bruno Brooks is unlikely to be a personal friend of yours. Anyway, Keep Bloody Rowing (with or without the leather trousers)!!!!!!!! Txxx

To Kez and crew….26 days in….can’t imagine how many calories you have all burned and eaten. You are human machines, I am truely proud of just knowing someone who could put themselves forward for such an epic feat of endurance …man against nature..winds and ocean on such a relatively tiny craft which through human effort alone has been pushed through the ocean so far…it’s an awesome achievement.
I applaud each and everyone of you!
Today’s quote ….”My own heroes are the dreamers, those men and woman who tried to make the world a better place than when they found it. Whether in small ways or great ones. Some succeed, some fail, most have mixed results. …..but it is the effort that is heroic, as I see it. Win or lose, I admire those who fight the good fight….”
By George R R Martin.
Keep Calm and Row Fast pal, you are all heroes …

Hi Kez and team Titan, it’s time you boys quit messin about on the water now and put the pedal to the metal, you guys have got a reception committee in the making and a record to break. So get your backsides on those sliders and put your backs in it, yes we know your aching, yes we know your hurting, yes we know its hard….but you guys have nearly rowed the Atlantic Ocean. Yes rowed. What an awesome achievement. A little more pain, a little more digging deep, and very soon you will see Barbados and your loved ones on the horizon. Fantastic effort….just squeeze those miles out.

Rufus the DVLA got back to me. Apparanyly there is a £1000 charge for destroying your car due to your failure not pay road tax. They also wondered where would you like the remnants of your car dropped off? On another note went round to your flat and Archie is so unimpressed with you and your boiler he has subjected your room to a dirty protest. Something to look forward to when you get back!!

Ayup Kez me old Mucca, how are you and the TITANS, looks like there is a fair old head wind looking at the weather map, this weather must be really energy sapping for you to be rowing against it. You are all doing a fab job though mate, there was always going to be nature against you and luck involved. It is an astonishingly long way. I worked out how many meters your row across the Atlantic is. I am sure I am correct in quoting 4817052 meters, it makes the 2000 m concept 2 row a bit of a joke really. Awesome endurance guys.
Today’s quote “When you feel like hope is gone,..look inside you and be strong and you will finally see the truth…that a hero lies in you !,,,”.
I am sure you will recognise the song….
Keep going guys, row that boat and make it have it!,!,!,,,!

Bloody hell Rufus – I’ve just realised you’re in the boat with a Yorkshireman – and one from Leeds at that! Hi there Mikey! We lived in Leeds for about 15 years – first in Headingley (but we weren’t ‘bloody students’), then in Roundhay (yes, we came up in the world). Mick was living in Armley before that, so Armley to Rounday really is coming up in the world… Our eldest son was born in Leeds and we keep telling him that he should be proud and its ‘God’s own country’, but he just whacks us on the head with a cushion – what can you do? He is a big fan of Betties and Harry Ramsden’s though, so it must be in the blood eh? Not sure he’s been on Ilkley Moor ba’t’hat mind you – better work on that one…. Anyway, sorry to bang on, just felt a bit homesick there! Not quite as homesick as you lot, I bet – so nearly there now – Barbados here you come!!

Yo Kez and fellow TITANS, it looks like the winds have changed, well done guys getting into the 80s, your path looks again straight and true. I hear you have flying fish….no doubt free sushi for you Kez,,,,make a change from your dry food stuffs. Glad to see spirits are still high as if the mind is strong the body will adapt and keep going. You are all doing really well, heard your radio interview, can I have your autograph please, you are famous. Been snowing again today and busy at work. We are missing you and will be glad to have ya back mate, costa awaits and I might throw in a brownie too!
Today’s quote for you to think about
Is from Ralph Ransom
“Before the reward there must be labour,…you plant before you harvest……you sow in tears before you reap the fruits of joy !…..”
Kez…have you worked off your puppy fat yet…..you were looking a bit of a fat bast#¥?% when you left mate, am thinking you probably have and your beard must now be full and thick, bit like mine.
Best wishes boys, go on lads keep going. Enjoy your history in the making.

Can we pre-order a copy of ‘Rowing with Rufus’ please? I do hope its not x-rated? Lots of love Tasha xxxx
Tasha, 05 Feb 2013 19:54 GMT
Rufus very impressive effort, imagine it’s almost as gruelling as my last few days… spent with Perkins. Disturbingly he’s been seeing off some attractive locals and if that’s not enough to get the blood boiling and inspire digging deep one of them claimed he was the funnest bloke they’d ever met. Disguisting.
orlando, 05 Feb 2013 19:43 GMT
Alright kez and the crew,
Good to see your clocking up the miles again and chasing down that 1,000 nm to go.
Just a quick update on me, me and the football lads have signed up to the tough mudder in 3months time, seen as tho this event is designed by the marines i think your gonna have to get in the gym with me and give me a royal beasting in preparation for this.
kez just keep thinking the Army v Navy game isnt to far away now if that isnt enough motivation to get you through i dont know what is.
Keep rowing.

Charlie, 05 Feb 2013 18:54 GMT

jay, 05 Feb 2013 18:22 GMT
All the way to the end, Dean! According to the map, you’ve only got a few more inches to go.
How’s the beard growth going? Any joy getting any stubble coming through on those cheeks yet?
How does it compare with 3 rounds with Harry Iles? Speaking of which, the videos have now been released so you can look forward to reliving the magic.
At least you get to duck out of Digby’s 30th…
Must get back to crunching numbers,
B

Hi Kez and crew,
Looks like you guys have overcome the adversity of mother nature and are burning up those daily miles again, this must be a great boost to team moral.
Keep watching the figures and amazed how quick you are getting back to where you want to be.
Kez, can’t believe nearly a year since the last Twickenham outing, where most of us will look back and wonder where this last year has gone, (few more grey hairs and wrinkles), you and the crew will be able to look back with pride and remember how much you have achieved.
Ps, may have been slightly p—-d last year, but still hoping you may be using some of your thinking time at sea to come up with that master plan so can kick back and relax on some tropical island. Could open it up to rest of crew for ideas, but still want my cut, lol!!!
Anyway guys keep strong, fit and well and soon you can kick back and relax with loved ones on that tropical island.
With love the RIddle’s xxxx
Martin, Sue, Jack and Will’s, 05 Feb 2013 10:17 GMT
Hi Kes and fellow titans, nearly at that 1000 mile mark what a fantastic achievement, dig deep and you’ll soon be tasting that barbados rum x May the wind stay with you.

Rufus – Apparently the squash court has been painted pink, someone lifted a load of acrylic paints from Miss Little. PJB is not amused, says he’ll set Talisker on the rogue responsible.
Randomly Damage took the blame – good for the rep – he’s just chuffing buts at the incin with Leo Holmes and Guido.
Feinds.

Hello Kez and the TITANS,
I hope you are all okay, you must be hurting now both mentally and physically. But I know you are all together suffering as one. It is this “as one” in which you must gain in strength, overcome the pain of flesh and muscle, overcome the yearning to be with loved ones. Focus,,,,focus on your task in hand, keep up with the jokes, the laughter when you can and dig deep within you to persevere with this fantastic, awesome and humbling challenge you all set yourselves, man against the ocean, your rowing against the odds. The ultimate test of mans endurance!
Today’s quote ” Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice, it is not a thing to be waited for,…..it is a thing to be achieved!!!” By William Jennings BRYAN.
Keep Calm and Row Fast, we are all willing you along, I Beleive!

Rufus, am sure that you are smiting the briney deep with anger but if not make sure than ‘Des’ and ‘Troy’ are off safr and give it some grown up welly.
you are missing nothing, Londons getting colder, the tummy getting flabbier, pretty impressive that you are out there doing something properly out the comfort zone, MDS is for girls.

Come on Rufus – keep rowing hard or I’ll start writing you very detailed accounts of my birth stories (and there are two of them remember). I’ll just give you a taster; “It was 4 am and I was standing in the bathroom when my waters suddenly broke – all over the tiled floor! I could feel an aching pain deep in my groin and I knew the baby was finally on its way!” Right – if you don’t want any more of that (and it gets worse, believe me) – Keep bloody rowing!!! Tasha xxxx

Lesley Flint, 04 Feb 2013 11:04 GMT
To the mighty Titan crew. I will borrow the words of a wonderful man, namely Edgar Alber Guest – aka – The Peoples Poet. Hear them and gain strength if you can;
Somebody said that it couldn’t be done.
But, he with a chuckle replied,
that “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in, with the trace of a grin on his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing, as he tackled the thing that couldn’t be done… and he did it.
Somebody scoffed: “Oh, you’ll never do that, at least no one has done it”;
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat, and the first thing we knew he’d begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin, without any doubting or quiddit, he started to sing as he tackled the thing that couldn’t be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done. There are thousands to prophesy failure.
There are thousands to point out to you one by one, the dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle it in with a bit of a grin. Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing that “couldn’t be done,” and you’ll do it.

Just been tacking your progress with your Dad Kez. You guys are pulling out all the stops against conditions that could be better, and it’s showing. Keep it up, and that will to succeed coupled with strength of mind and character will get you your goal. This journey will soon be over now, continue your fight against the elements and be proud, each and every one of you.

Keep going Ruf! Although I suppose it’s unlikely that you will not keep going, as to be honest to elect to spend the rest of your days in the mid-atlantic would be a bit rubbish. I went to watch the rugby yesterday and alas saw Scotland get totally, and indeed utterly predictably, battered. Always next year though! I’ve got a scam with a twelve-inch plate. Get me one chum! PS thought you should know that Chip has just signed a record contract with Kanye West.

Seems that the wind has been horribly against you, and no matter how well you row in these conditions you cannot make headway like you have been doing, you can’t fight nature guys. There was always going to be a great deal of luck with the weather involved with this adventure, seems you have been unlucky these past few days.
Keep attacking mucca, awesome strength and determination to succeed.so proud. Help for Heros looking good. Will try to get more on your behalf. Keep going mate, alls not lost.

Mikey,
How’s it going? Are you all skinny and hairy? When I told some friends what you were doing, they were more concerned about how you were going to take a shit than the amazing mental and physical pressures you would be going through. Rest assured I informed them that defication happens overboard, probably two at a time on opposite sides of the boat in order to keep it balanced.
Thinking loads about you, all this possitive energy has got to go somewhere right? What? Too hippy for you? Ok, well, just keep it up. Can’t wait to see you when you get back. Hope your bum isn’t too sore.

To Kez and the TITANS…..
Whoop whoop guys, against the odds you are rowing well in difficult times in the doldrums. Not long now before things will change ,,,you are doing very well and very soon you will have travelled half way. Downhill from then on….sprint finish required and then tea and medals. I hope you are all ok. Thought about whether you row in the dark??? I guess I know the answer but that must be even harder…
Today’s quote is by Mark Twain
” twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you did not do than by the things you did do. So throw off the bow lines , catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover…..”
Stay strong titans. Hope you are not too fatigued and have saved plenty for the final push….best wishes.

Garnet Harrison, 29 Jan 2013 07:00 GMT
Hey guys, keep up the great effort. From what I can see on the progress map you are out with the best of the past years however I think you need to pick it up a tiny bit to push ahead and get that record! Paul: an update from Whangamata on the weekend – horrible conditions meant Piha A finished nowhere in short course and didn’t make the final for the long course – before those results Scott had said the boat’s going better without you! Completely unpredictable results and a whole lot of carnage made for a lot of breakages (boats and legs). Mairangi didn’t finish short course final then no racing for women on Sunday. Mairangi and Piha selected as national crews again however and down to race aussie in waihi on Feb 9 – so hurry up and get to Barbados so you can come back and win! Go hard out there and have fun guys, Carmel.

Titans….
Stop press…..I have just come off the phone with a mate in MI5….apparently you guys have been spotted on satellite as a blur….there is a strong suggestion that you have harnessed six dolphins to tow you along….whilst you are sipping pnickaladas…. Mohito s and Bacardi breezes? And sunbathing and swimming/ diving…..you are going so fast….this can be the only explanation.
Keep those dolphins going….oh and the occasional row…and you will be in Barbados very soon.
Go titans goooooooooooooooooooo!

To Kez and the Titan rowers.
Hi guys, hope you are all in good form, any broken oars yet. Cracking photo from the sail boat, sounds like a meeting of differing trans Atlantic vessels and a meeting you will never forget….the peaks and troughs of the ocean and your own feelings spiritually must be staggering. We are all willing you along guys so keep strong in spirit.
Today’s quote is another of Gandhi…
“Man often becomes what he beleives himself to be, ..if I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really being incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, then I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it, even if I may not have had it in the beginning…….”
I think Gandhi was talking about positive mental attitude, which I am sure you guys have bucket loads(sorry Kez to mention your bucket again).
Stay safe, row fast and strong. Enjoy your base level cruise , best wishes. The Dazler x
Darren Lenton, 27 Jan 2013 12:51 GMT
Hey Paul….Thought I should look up “Titan” in my dictionary….Means…”Crazy Phuka’s R US”…Love it!…. You have really got your dad going. He has now the only spa with oars, but he don’t believe me when I tell him he’s not going anywhere. He’s convinced Lynn’s a mermaid, so he is stroking fairly hard. Not sure, but could be something wrong with him. …Was checking your speed progress with my Spy Drone, and am blown away by the size of the rooster tail you boys sending up. After calculating your speed using 6 to the power of 1 should have you arriving before you start.. Finish is just over that hill. Watch for cars. With you all the way. Cheers to you all. Kev.

Hi Kez and Team Titan, hope you are all rowing strong and the wind and ocean is in your favour. I have been wondering about your view whilst rowing, I guess by now you will know every inch of the boat inside out. I hope you are all getting on together, the team work and comradery must be awesome…..I now know where the phrase “we’re all in the same boat ” must come from!
I hope you are able to get inspiration from my daily quote postings…..today’s is from Ralph Waldo Emerson…….”What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters by comparison to what lies within us”………give this one some thought. Most relevant to your current adventure. Hope you all continue to row hard and fast and stay safe, keep laughing and best wishes. The Dazler x

To Kez and Team
Wow guys…looks like you have been rowing hard. Hope the sickness has passed, you are eating up the nautical miles…..amazing. Keep it going fellas. Today’s quote is about success ” I succeed because I am willing to do things that others are not, I will fight against all odds, I will sacrifice, I am not shackled by fear, insecurity or doubt. I feel these emotions but drink them in, and swallow them away. I am motivated by accomplishment , if I fall I get up, I will never stop getting better because I have a will of iron, I will never give up…..and that is why I will succeed!…”

How’s the oggin Rufus? Big blue and pretty ruddy wavy I bet. Hope you guys are all well. Reference ‘Alex Digby’s’ (who’s he?!) second point, I would submit that a good old refresher bar chests the tape a fraction ahead of the Wham bar, but it’s a close race. Amazing the number of people who still think the petrol cap to the Ford Focus is on the offside rear.

Uncle Kez princess is missing you :( you never ever fail to surprise me in all your missions you do. when you completed the iron Man I couldn’t believe it but then went onto to smash the iron man again in Utar & now you are rowing the Atlantic. wow what is next? I hope you think of me everytime you have your iPod & thinking of us all back here makes you smile! please come back in one piece, can’t wait for a hug! hope you are safe & well. lots of love xxxxx

Sorry Rufus, don’t know who posted Ben’s message, but not true! Row well and take care. Xxxx
Amy, 19 Jan 2013 10:04 GMT
Rufus, my earlier posting was not by myself but, in fact, your housemate and his great pal Russ Abbot up to high jinx. You could probably tell as it was comedy gold. I am afraid no nuptials are in the offing, but the COD theme is definitely an idea; morning suit with a hint of Bakarra.
Ben Howroyd, 19 Jan 2013 09:38 GMT

Do you know what this bathroom says to me? Aqua. Which is French for water. It’s like being inside an enormous Fox’s Glacier Mint. Which, again, to me is a bonus
Garnet Harrison , 18 Jan 2013 10:56 GMT
Discussions for long stints:
1) Could Muhammed Ali still beat you in a fight?
2) Is there a retro sweet bar that is better than a Wham?
3) Is it still gay when you are 100 from land?
Enjoy

Guys, I’m so excited for you all on this amazing challenge ahead of you.
I send my well wishes, support and strength for the entire voyage.
Kez, I know you can do this, and you will be a massive asset to all the crew.
A well chosen and dedicated man who spoke to me about this Atlantic crossing as only a dream 5 years ago! Now you’re only a few days from departing.
I’m going to track you 100% of the way. Enjoy every second of it when things are going good, but save a smile for all onboard when things aren’t so.
Stay safe, look after one another and I’ll see you on your return.
Paul Henson, 08 Jan 2013 21:42 GMT
Hello to me old mucker Kez and the crew of Titan. I am sending this from the tropical island of Maurtius where we have just had a cyclone. My wife Abigail (who sees Kez as a brother in law) has been in tears with worry when I told her that this weather is nothing compared to what you guys may have to face. The fact is sometimes a man’s got to do what a man’s got to do and it’s only the best and the bravest that seek to exceed the boundaries of achievement and endeavour. You all have my highest respect, not only for taking on the attempt but also for trusting a little fat lad from Nottingham to pull his weight! May your god be with you. Be together fellas.
Tim Plant, 06 Jan 2013 16:40 GMT
Just bumped into the team who were in good spirits and working through final preparations for departure in Puerto Mogan. Safe travels and we hope that you smash the record gents!
